Research tells us that access to appropriate role models for women who are considering starting a business or are growing an existing business, is critically important.
This new ‘Women’s Enterprise Ambassadors’ project features the stories of some of the most successful female entrepreneurs in Scotland. Through the project, which will feature a range of Ambassadors from different sectors and locations, we’ll seek to inspire, motivate, engage and connect with women-led start-up and growth businesses.
Our Ambassadors will be available for media interviews, speaking engagements, and events in schools and universities. If you’d like one or more of the Ambassadors to get involved in your event or article, please contact Jennifer Lindsay-Finan at Women’s Enterprise Scotland (WES) – jennifer @wescotland.co.uk
This project is one of a number of actions contained in the Scottish Framework and Action Plan for Women’s Enterprise , which was launched on 4th March 2014 by Cabinet Secretary for Finance, Employment and Sustainable Growth, John Swinney MSP and Minister for Youth Employment, Angela Constance MSP.
With the objective of increasing the contribution of women’s enterprise to the Scottish economy, this document helps lay the foundation for action involving all the key stakeholders in the enterprise eco-system.
The Framework is the result of a series of discussions and workshops held between October 2012 and April 2013, with a range of organisations and female business owners to address the gender gap in entrepreneurial activity in Scotland. The activity was developed and facilitated by WES in partnership with the Scottish Government.
